“Simple, focused, & disciplined always wins.”
Backstory.
Growing up I never understood the role of an entrepreneur or the world of business. I grew up on Long Island, NY, learning to value community & giving back when my mother & sister battled cancer (we won). I arrived to a new neighborhood in the 5th grade & conquered another life-altering hardship through a sudden onset ventricular arrhythmia which pronounced me dead for 5 minutes then being zapped back to life (I'm sort of a zombie). This turning point exemplified the importance of gratitude & introduced me to new passions for music & creativity.
You could imagine my college essay wrote itself & has landed me at Fairfield University. My entrepreneurial spark ignited as I began immersing myself in the community, class, & extracurriculars. My freshman summer I decided to co-found my first company, Happy Dog Surf Shop, a non-profit dog-themed apparel brand donating proceeds to local animal shelters. I learned that starting business with friends isn't the best idea & that the world of retail is a terrible place to start. Itching to build I found website creation as a side hustle with my 2nd venture WebForge Creative which yet again failed. I made a few websites but quickly found my service was both commoditized & replaced by AI. More recently I took a 3rd shot through after5 a revenue capture system that handles customer interactions for busy service based businesses. Yet again, we realized AI has commoditized numerous software tools & decided to move on.
This summer I will be a product manager at Mastercard with the ambition of training my entrepreneurial skills while learning more about the future of Crypto & agentic payments. Throughout the summer I plan to be deeply embedded in the “Soho Valley” community alongside fellow young builders & visionaries. I am insanely fixated on the AI Revolution, Startups, & basically everything that continues to reshape our future!
Future Outlook.
AI is a revolution, not a bubble. In the industrial revolution we replaced our muscles — now we are trying to replace our minds. This paradigm shift will deeply change the way we work, live, & exist in a future world. I am a firm believer in a mix of 2 future scenarios that play out in the near term. In Scenario 1, AI will make everything a lot cheaper at the expense of white collar workers. Brand, friction, & intermediation are barriers AI will hurdle over, working tirelessly to both create & find the cheapest options. In Scenario 2, the infrastructure (data centers, energy, & water) will bottleneck AI innovation & ripple through the economy. During the industrial revolution railways & roads cost less and lasted for 50–100 years; data centers on the other hand are grossly expensive & last for 3–5 years. In the long term humanity is innovating towards a more equitable, prosperous, & exciting future.
With AI continually disrupting the startup world there are still numerous “evergreen” growth waves that invite enormous opportunity for innovation & entrepreneurial success. To name a few: the aging population (who want to age at home), the $124T wealth transfer, the great ownership transfer of SMBs as baby boomers retire. Additionally, for AI to continue to grow, energy, memory, security, & compute are vital pieces of infrastructure. Finally, “intelligent robotics” & the future of physical AI invites new possibility for industries like mining, defense, & food to name a few.
In the present I continue to search for what Peter Thiel defines as “secrets” to build innovative solutions to the world's problems. As a young mind I continue to absorb as much content as possible to challenge both my current & future perspectives. If any of my perspective interests you I invite you to connect!
